(Side Story) Swim and Root Beer Floats
June 29th Four days after adding Ghost to the Thorn household, it was quite hot outside, over 80 degrees in fact, though according to Harper, the outdoors might as well have been a desert or the sun. Damien decided that they all take dip in the lake not far from the residence, since the lake would be much cooler. Everyone changed into their swimwear, the ladies of the house wearing brightly colored floral print one pieces while Damien wore swim trunks that were patterned but not nearly as brightly colored as Abby's or Harper's, then Abby packed towels into a beach bag which Damien carried, Abby tried to protest that she had no issue carrying the bag, Damien insisted he was fine carrying it. During this, Harper ran out the back door with Ghost hot on her heels. "To the lake, Ghost!" the little girl yelled, Ghost barked excitedly. Abby quickly turned on her heel and followed after Harper, who ran around the yard a little in the summer heat before barreling towards the lake. Abby quickly
June 18th The three days after the fair were fairly uneventful, though Harper did latch onto the idea of having a dog or any pet at all every time she saw a dog outside. At first she had asked Abby about getting a dog, though Abby wasn't sure what to say had told Harper to ask Damien. And when Harper did ask Damien about getting a dog, he never gave a straight answer, he was also incredibly vague about it. On the 18th of June, while Abby and Harper were busy playing tag, Damien had stepped away from the game claiming that he needed a break from the game for a moment. Once he was out of range of Abby and Harper, he let himself relax, letting his nature as the Antichrist out even just a little bit. Not long after that in a a nearby bush he heard some rustling, out from the bush emerged a Rottweiler, no collar. The Rottweiler sat on the ground without even being commanded and looked up at Damien. Both were aware of each other, the Antichrist and a Hellhound respectively. Damien knelt down

June 15th It was a warm summer day in Illinois, school was out for everyone, and it was too much of a nice day to spend it indoors. Which is what six year old Harper and twenty-four year old Damien Thorn are doing, they were walking with no particular goal or destination in mind when Harper had spotted the start of a fair further down the block from them, she looked up at Damien while tugging on his arm. "Look Daddy! A Fair!" "I see that Bunny. I'm guessing you want to go to that fair." "Pretty please daddy?" "Well it is a nice day so I don't see why not." Harper let out a squeal of excitement and started down the block. Damien went after her and quickly caught up. "Bunny, I know you're excited to go to the fair but please don't run from me like that." "I'm sorry daddy, are you mad?" "No, Bunny, I'm not mad just please don't run away from me like that again, it makes me worry." "Worry that I'll get boo-boos?" "Exactly." The Thorn walked into the fair hand in hand, this fair turned out

At 5:30 AM two days before Thanksgiving, Damien stirred awake when his bedroom door was suddenly opened and light from the hallway slipped in. He slowly sat up in bed, eyes bleary with sleep. "I'm so sorry to wake you like this Damien, but Harper woke up coughing," Abby informed him from the doorway, as Harper coughed. Damien rubbed sleep from his eyes and looked at Abby, who was standing in his bedroom doorway in nightgown and robe, her red hair tousled with sleep and in her arms was little 5 year old Harper, her shoulder length brown hair also tousled with sleep wearing her baby pink nightgown. "How long ago did this start?" Damien asked. "About five, maybe closer to ten minutes ago." Damien got out of bed and walked over to the door. "I'll take her from here Abby." Damien told her. "Are you sure? She's got a cold Damien, I can take care of her so you don't risk catching her cold." "It's just a cold, not some horrible illness that requires a hospital trip, I can look after her." July 14th Ever since summer started and having received his acceptance letter to attend Yale, Damien had been interviewing nannies who would look after his now ten month old daughter, Harper, while he was away. He had plenty of candidates to chose from, and had already interviewed some of them. If Damien was honest with himself, the last two he had interviewed, he thought of never speaking to them again, while they were good with children it seems the nanny agency must have made a mistake sending their resumes to him since both possible nannies had never been a nanny for a child under the age of 5 or 6 and when Damien mentioned how old his daughter is, they seemed a bit nervous about looking after an actual baby though they tried to hide it but Damien already caught it. Damien looked at the clock while Harper sat in her playpen, playing with her toys and babbling away, he had another possible nanny to interview today, a woman named Abigail Campbell in ten minutes. He looked over her

After arriving at home, Damien left his boots and jacket near the door, went up to his bedroom and got himself and his newly adopted daughter, Harper, ready for bed. Even making a temporary bed for her after it fully sunk in that he was completely unprepared to look after a baby and made some mental notes of baby items he would need for her. The first night was not exactly the smoothest night, Harper was quite fussy, waking up to cry due to the new and strange environment she has found herself in. Damien did his best to comfort her during the night, though he still was not fully confident in what he was doing. Come morning Damien was quite tired and in need of coffee or a nap or both. And by week's end, Damien made sure he had the supplies he needed for Harper, along with some parenting books for himself. Though Harper had her own bed and room, the nights were still not the easiest, given Damien's lack of experience in caring for a child and Harper still adapting to her new

End and Beginning
Damien had allowed Kate Reynolds to lead him out to some rural ruins in the promise of leading him once and for all to Nazarene in exchange for the freedom of her son, Peter. In the time they were at the ruins there had been two more attempts to kill Damien; first the last living priest, Father De Carlo, had made a foolish attempt to stab Damien with a dagger of Megiddo only to succeed in killing Peter by mistake when Damien had used the young boy as a human shield in an effort to protect himself from being killed and in his horror of what he had done, he pulled the dagger out of Peter’s body only to let it fall from his grasp. To avenge the untimely death of her son, Kate had picked up De Carlo’s discarded dagger and attempted to stab Damien when the man had his back turned to her. However, Damien Thorn was not a foolish man, he spun on his heel, grabbed Kate’s wrist and squeezed. Kate cried out in shock and in pain, she quickly dropped the dagger which clattered to the floor of the

Not long after Damien and Harvey were in Damien’s office, the phone rang. Harvey answered. “Who is this?” Harvey asked. He looked at Damien, covered one half of the phone and said, “It’s Kate Reynolds’ son, he’s calling from a phone booth. But how did he get this number?” “I gave him the number.” Damien said he reached over and took the phone from Harvey. Once on the phone, he instructed Peter to follow someone and avoid being seen, and to call Damien with any information. Peter understood what Damien told him and they hung up the phone. Harvey who had been watching the phone call said to Damien, “Careful Damien, his mother called earlier, she wants to see you.” “Well why didn’t you tell me earlier? I want to talk to her.” Damien replied, a little annoyed that he wasn’t informed about Kate’s phone call sooner. “Because she’s dangerous Damien!” Harvey snapped, equally annoyed. “I’m the one who decides who is dangerous and who isn’t, not you.” Damien then pointed at the phone on the desk
After arriving in London, England and checking into a hotel, the Carlson four went looking for Harper. They first went to the Embassy first, hoping to at least speak with Damien, but unfortunately Damien was in a meeting and unavailable, so they left the Embassy and decided to explore London a little bit while also keeping an eye out for Harper. A few hours after arriving in London, they ran into Harper as the teenager was on her way to a rail station after school ended for the day. She apologized for running into them, while the Carlson women did notice Harper did look a bit like Jess. “I’m sorry if this may seem rude, but are you Harper Thorn?” Valerie asked. “I am Harper Thorn. Who are you?” Harper replied. “I’m Valerie Carlson, this is my mother Melinda, and my two sisters Mary and Jess.” “Is there a chance we could talk to you in private?” Mary asked. Harper looked a little hesitant. She ended up inviting them over to her home to chat even though it was unwise since they were
After the fox hunt, Damien traveled to a quarry, he was determined not to lose to Nazarene, but he couldn’t very well search for his archenemy on his own. And he was meeting the perfect group of people to help him aid in the search here in the quarry. His voice echoed through the quarry as he addressed the large group of people in the quarry waiting for him. “Disciples of the Watch, I stand before you all tonight in the name of the one true god, who has been cast out of Heaven but lives on in me. Do you hear me?” The group chanted in a sea of flat, monotone voices, “We hear and obey.” “I command you to seek out and destroy the Nazarene. Destroy the Nazarene, I will reign forevermore. Fail and I am destroyed. Destroy the Nazarene, and you, my loyal disciples, will truly inherit this Earth. Fail, and you will be destroyed. Destroy the Nazarene, and you will all finally know the raptures of my father’s kingdom. Fail, and you will be condemned to a numb, empty eternity of Christ. Do you
